GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

Today I join my countrymen in remembering and celebrating a most holy day, MEMORIAL DAY. Although not a religious holiday, Memorial Day conjures a spirit of reverence and gratitude that is akin to that of worshipping God. I am grateful for the men and women who serve to protect the US and other countries; for those who have sacrificed so much to serve the right of freedom. Because of their commitment to something greater than themselves, I get to choose how to spend each moment of my life. Today at 3pm you can join other Americans in a National Moment of Remembrance for all those who have fallen.

Jesus said to his disciples,

"Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends."

John 15:13

CAPTIVE THOUGHTS!

Come on in and join me as I reveal my feelings, thoughts and experiences that have resulted from choosing to display gratitude for my life. Gratitude is a powerful tool and one that can be used to reach inward, outward or upward to find all sorts of wonderful blessings that are just waiting there for all of us!

If you are bored or lonely, sad or depressed, or just immobilized by the stresses of your circumstances, I can definitely relate. But I'm here to tell you that if you want to romp in those greener pastures you MUST develop a habit of gratitude. Habits are those behaviors we do without really thinking about them, and they are developed by consistent, steady practice. So as an exercise in self-discipline, I created this blog where I will be posting my daily "gratitude" entry. Maybe short, maybe long. Maybe serious, maybe funny. Maybe intellectual, maybe asinine. (I looked this one up: def. extremely or utterly foolish)

But whatever the topic or tone may be, it will definitely come from a place of GRATITUDE!
